El agua turbia en un acuario puede significar distintos problemas, un acuario con mala filtración puede ser motivo, o que no este ciclado, o si está sobrepoblado así como otras opciones, que pueden estar combinadas, en este tema analizaremos este problema.

Causas de agua turbia en acuario:


1 Ciclado inconcluso


2 Filtración defectuosa 


3 Sobrepoblación o sobrealimentación


4 Fondo de grava o con Filtros placa bajo la grava

5 algas unicelulares o agua verde
 

6 Falta de cambios de agua y sifoneo

 

 

1 - Ciclado inconcluso o inexistente: 

En un acuario sin ciclar o a medio ciclar es común ver turbia el agua por efectos de los Nitritos.
Cómo saben las bacterias reducen el Amonio a Nitritos y luego a Nitratos que son 500 veces menos tóxicos que el Amonio el pico máximo de Nitritos se presenta visualmente produciendo el agua turbia. Este pico máximo de nitritos hace nacer las bacterias que lo oxidaran a nitratos produciendo que el agua este más cristalina a medida que se reducen los nitritos.

 

. Solución:

Para solucionar este problema podemos esperar los 15 o 20 días que demorará completarse el proceso de ciclado o utilizar métodos para acelerarlo .
En caso de tener peces recomiendo poner plantas( consumen Amonio y Nitritos) pues estas toxinas son muy dañinas para los peces.

2 - Filtración defectuosa: 

El filtro también puede ser el causante, muchos los utilizan como vienen y a veces es necesario optimizarlos .
El orden de Materiales filtrantes es un motivo, si estan mal ordenados produce que el filtro se tape y genere en el un foco de putrefacción o de bacterias anaerobias. Lo que produce que la materia suelta quede en el agua circulando y aumentando en su cantidad a medida que pasa el tiempo.

 

. Solución:


Optimizar el orden de Materiales filtrantes y los materiales filtrantes . En caso de peces Goldfish que ensucian mucho puede ser conveniente hacerles un filtro Sump externo en el cual podremos limpiar y extraer materia en cada cambio de agua .

3 - Sobrepoblación o sobrealimentación:

La sobrepoblación o la sobrealimentación lógicamente causa mucha materia en el agua porque a más peces más defecan y si el espacio es reducido lógicamente la materia que circule en el agua será excesiva.

 

. Solución: 

Controlar cuantos litros necesita cada pez y ver cuantos podemos tener...Una regla que no es exacta porque varía de acuerdo a las especies puede ser útil para tener una idea y es la siguiente: 1,5 litros por cm. de peces chicos menores a 5 cm y 2 litros mínimo por cm de peces más grandes.
 Respecto a la alimentación es conveniente darles comidas naturales en trozos a fin de que se sirvan solos y el alimento no se desparrame como sucede con el alimento comercial.El sobrante dell alimento natural se debe extraer al siguiente día o lo ideal es que no haya nada al siguiente día sino significa que la cantidad de alimento fue excesiva.

4 - Fondo de grava o con Filtros placa bajo la grava.


La grava tiene la desventaja de esconder en todo su interior desechos por lo cuál un acuario que aparenta estar limpio puede no estarlo y esto afecta y mucho a los peces y si mueven la grava se levantara toda la suciedad dejando el agua turbia.
Esto pueden comprobarlo removiendo las grava con la mano.
El problema con la grava es que se debe sifonear en su interior totalmente y en todo el fondo de punta a punta por lo cuál siempre es mejor tener arena.
Los filtros placa también acumulan desechos bajo las placas simulando que el acuario esta bien.
Pero en realidad.esta acumulación materia afecta y muchísimo..
A más materia habrá más bacterias que produciran mucho Nitrato y en altas concentraciones es muy dañino.
Es común que estos filtros obliguen a desmontar totalmente el acuario para limpiar los desechos que acumula.

 

. Solución:


Cambiar la grava por arena o realizar en cada limpieza una intenso sifoneo interno de toda la grava en todo el fondo del acuario.
Respecto a los filtros placa es conveniente extraerlos pues siempre acumularan materia y generarán este problema.

5 - Algas verdes o Unicelulares.


Estas algas cubren toda el agua dándoles una tonalidad verde y turbia.

6 - Falta de cambios de agua y sifoneo.
